Computer and Communications Chapter (CCC)
The IEEE Computer Society is the world's leading membership organization dedicated to computer science and technology. The IEEE Computer Society is the trusted information, networking, and career-development source for a global community of technology leaders that includes researchers, educators, software engineers, IT professionals, employers, and students. The IEEE Communications Society promotes the advancement of science, technology and applications in communications and related disciplines. It fosters presentation and exchange of information among its members and the technical community throughout the world. The Society maintains the highest standard of professionalism and technical competency.
Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS)
As their title suggests, biomedical engineers work at the intersection of engineering, the life sciences and healthcare. These engineers take principles from applied science (including mechanical, electrical, chemical and computer engineering) and physical sciences (including physics, chemistry and mathematics) and apply them to biology and medicine. Although the human body is a more complex system than even the most sophisticated machine, many of the same concepts that go into building and programming a machine can be applied to biological structures and diagnostic and therapeutic tools. The goal is to better understand, replace or fix a target system to ultimately improve the quality of healthcare.
Industry Applications Society (IAS)
The scope of the Industry Applications Society, as a transnational organization, is the advancement of the theory and practice of electrical and electronic engineering in the development, design, manufacture and application of electrical systems, apparatus, devices and controls to the processes and equipment of industry and commerce; the promotion of safe, reliable and economic installations; industry leadership in energy conservation and environmental, health, and safety issues; the creation of voluntary engineering standards and recommended practices; and the professional development of its membership.
Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S)
MTT Society promotes the advancement of microwave theory and its applications, including RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies. For more than 60 years the MTT-S has worked to advance the professional standing of its members and enhance the quality of life for all people through the development and application of microwave technology. As we enter into an exciting future, our mission is to continue to understand and influence microwave technology, and to provide a forum for all microwave engineers. The MTT-S will continue to be the global focus for promotion of the RF and microwave engineering profession, by advancing and distributing knowledge and supporting professional development. The activities sponsored by the MTT-S include a broad spectrum of conferences, workshops, tutorials, technical committees, chapter meetings, publications and professional education programs. Our professional venues provide a great opportunity for networking with experienced innovators, experts, and practitioners. Our volunteer programs provide for development of critical, non-technical skills that enable you to be more effective professionally.
The Power & Energy Society (PES) provides the world's largest forum for sharing the latest in technological developments in the electric power industry, for developing standards that guide the development and construction of equipment and systems, and for educating members of the industry and the general public. Members of the Power & Energy Society are leaders in this field, and they and their employers derive substantial benefits from involvement with this unique and outstanding association.
Robotics and Automation Society (RAS)
RAS strives to advance innovation, education, and fundamental and applied research in robotics and automation. Robotics focuses on systems incorporating sensors and actuators that operate autonomously or semi-autonomously in cooperation with humans. Robotics research emphasizes intelligence and adaptability to cope with unstructured environments. Automation research emphasizes efficiency, productivity, quality, and reliability, focusing on systems that operate autonomously, often in structured environments over extended periods, and on the explicit structuring of such environments. The Society provides aid in promoting close cooperation and exchange of technical information among its Members and Affiliates, and to this end holds meetings for the presentation of papers and their discussion, sponsors appropriate periodicals and special technical publications, and through its committees studies and provides for the needs of its members and affiliates.
Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS)
The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society's field of interest is the design, implementation, and application of solid-state integrated circuits. SSCS focuses on integrated-circuit career opportunities and education
