Awards Committee: To nominate qualified members for any local, regional, and national IEEE awards and honors available to the membership including election to the grade of Fellow. This committee is also in charge of arranging the annual Section Banquet at which awards will be presented annually.
Industry Relations Committee: Responsible for assisting the SFV Section and its Chapters with potential venues for presentations at local companies. Make companies and industry aware of SFV Section events. Promote technical societies presentations and conferences. Seek industry and companies contribution to the SFV Section. Serve as a liaison between the SFV Section and industry.
Membership Development Committee: Responsible for expanding and upgrading Section membership and for encouraging delinquent members to retain their membership.
Professional Activities Committee (PACE): To organize programs to enhance the professional status of Section membership, to handle matters pertaining to professional engineering registration in the SFV Section area, and to handle requests submitted by the SFV Section for information concerning professional engineering in its area. There are six areas of activities defined by IEEE-USA at this time, which are Employee Assistance, Career Enhancement, Pre-college Education, Student Professional Awareness Conferences (S-PAC), Member Professional Awareness Conference and Government Relations.
Women in Engineering (WIE): WIE is the largest international professional organization dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering. The mission of IEEE WIE is to facilitate the global recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines. IEEE WIE envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity.
Young Professionals Committee: Young Professionals is an international community of enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative members and volunteers. IEEE is committed to helping young professionals evaluate their career goals, polish their professional image, and create the building blocks of a lifelong and diverse professional network.
